A few weeks later, Peter goes to tell MJ the truth when Ned arrives at the diner she works at. In a tearful goodbye to them, he promises them that he'll search them out and make them remember him. In order to stop the multiverse breaking open, Peter gets Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to carry out the spell that will make the entire world forget he is Spider-Man – which includes MJ and Ned. This feels like an overload of films, even for a cinematic universe as chockablock as the MCU. This could be Spider-Man 4, but this would place the film one month after Captain America: New World Orderand one month prior to Thunderbolts. The Sony date that has inspired the aforementioned whispers is an unconfirmed Marvel project for June 7, 2024. In the past, there have been two years between each Spider-Man movie within the MCU, but we have a feeling it'll be a bigger gap for the next film, as 2023 already has two Marvel films slated for release ( Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on June 2 and Madame Web on October 6).
Until there's something confirmed, however, we will steer clear of the unsubstantiated whispers. As with anything Marvel or Marvel-adjacent, rumours abound. "There definitely was a sense for me, as an actor, that this was the last time that I could potentially don the suit, so a lot of that emotion came from the act of saying goodbye, which is one of the biggest themes throughout this film," Holland explained. While that's exciting for the future, it does also mean that this could well be the end. The possibilities for that new movie are endless as No Way Home wipes the slate clean for whatever Spidey does next.
